MAXFIT™ Gloves - FAQ's

1. Are Maxfit Gloves a barrier to chemicals?

No, Maxfit Gloves are made of materials that are resistant to a broad range of chemicals but the gloves are not designed to offer any barrier protection to the human body.

2. Do Maxfit gloves offer any thermal protection from hot or cold surfaces?

Maxfit Gloves are not designed to offer thermal protection. The materials used in the glove construction can withstand temperatures up to 250 deg C before melting. The polymer coating itself can handle much higher temperatures up to 500 deg C but there is no thermal protection for the wearer.

3. Can Maxfit Gloves be autoclaved and sterilized?

Yes, Maxfit Gloves can be autoclaved at 240 deg C(464 deg F) for more than 21 times without degrading. In fact the gloves look like new except that under these extreme conditions they shrink a little...albeit after 21 sterilization procedures.

4. Can the Gloves be washed and machine dried?

Yes Maxfit Gloves can be washed and dried numerous times. They do not shrink and come out looking like brand new. The only possible change you may see is the logo washing out, but the glove will function like new.

5. Do Auto mechanics use the gloves in the vicinity of hot surfaces?

Yes, auto, marine, motorcycle mechanics do use the gloves. They have been known to use the gloves while momentarily touching and handling exhaust pipes at 178 deg F(81 deg C). They tell us that this is not a problem providing the glove is only in contact with the hot surface for no more than a number of seconds. The glove coating will not melt or degrade at that temperature and the glove material will cool very fast.

6. Are Maxfit Glove cut resistant?

No these gloves are not cut resistant. Cut resistant gloves are in development.
